Jean Bernard Leon Foucault was born in 1819 and died in 1868 at the 49 years age. He is known for his many works of which here most representative of its ingeniousness:

- Study of the rotation of the Earth withto the Foucault's pendulum
- Determination of the light velocity by the method of the revolving mirror
- Highlighting of currents induced during flux variation through a metal (Eddy current)
- Development of a parabolic reflecting telescope out of silver plated glass
- Development of a gyroscope

 

The students had to carry out search during their preparation of the visit to the museum on Leon Foucault's works.
